The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has commenced extension and stabilisation works on tipping platforms E1 and E2 at the Olusosun dumpsite.
The Director of Public Affairs of the agency, Dr Mukaila Sanusi, disclosed this in a statement signed by the Executive Director, Finance, Mr Kunle Adebiyi, in Ijora-Olopa on Monday.
The Executive Director, Finance, Mr. Adebiyi, said, the project was being executed through Zoomlion Nigeria Limited to increase the platforms’ capacity to accommodate more waste trucks simultaneously and thereby improve operational efficiency and safety.
According to him, work is progressing on site as scheduled and its completion alongside major improvement works in other dumping facilities including Solus III and Epe will strengthen waste evacuation infrastructure and improve service delivery across Lagos State by significantly reducing truck turnaround time.
LAWMA solicits the cooperation of all Private Sector Participation (PSP) operators, waste truck drivers and other stakeholders during the execution of the project to ensure smooth operations and the timely completion of the ongoing rehabilitation works.
The Authority remains committed to improving waste-management infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency and sustaining a cleaner and healthier Lagos.
