PalmPay has advised customers to seek assistance only through its official support channels, as fraudsters continue to impersonate customer service representatives to obtain sensitive information and deceive users.
The advisory follows the recent Customer Service Week and highlights precautions customers can take when seeking assistance with transactions, account access and other service-related issues.
Impersonation scams can occur through phone calls and messaging platforms, with fraudsters posing as representatives of financial institutions. They may offer fake rewards, promise refunds or claim to require account details to resolve a complaint.
PalmPay advises customers not to disclose their one-time passwords (OTPs), personal identification numbers (PINs), passwords or verification codes to anyone. Customers should also avoid clicking suspicious links or authorising transactions in response to unverified requests.
Merchants are encouraged to confirm payments through their official transaction records before releasing goods or services, rather than relying solely on screenshots or messages presented as evidence of payment.
Customers who suspect fraudulent activity, identify unfamiliar transactions or require assistance with their accounts are advised to seek help through PalmPay’s official customer support channels. The company also encourages users to verify the authenticity of social media accounts and other communications before responding to requests for personal or financial information.
Customers should familiarise themselves with the security features available in the PalmPay app’s Security Center, keep their account credentials confidential and report suspicious activity promptly. Any request for sensitive information or action on an account should be independently verified before proceeding.
The guidance forms part of PalmPay’s ongoing PalmPay Dey For You campaign, which includes customer education on fraud prevention and safer digital financial transactions.
