APC Campaign DG goes spiritual for Tinubu, gathers 3000 imams to pray for election success

The All Progressives Congress APC presidential campaign Director General, Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari has undertaken a spiritual measure in securing his recent appointment by gathering about 3000 imams in Zamfara state to pray for return of peace in some part of the country and total victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027 general elections.

The clerics were gathered on Saturday during an engagement with supporters in his hometown as part of the strategy to bring the people of Zamfara state together for overall victory of the party.

Senator Abdul’aziz Yari commended the zeal of the people of Zamfara state in coming out in mass to congratulate, encourage and support him over his assignment as the party’s presidential campaign DG.

The gathering was organised to seek divine intervention for the nation, pray for President Tinubu’s success in the forthcoming election, and seek Allah’s guidance and support for Senator Yari in delivering the mandate entrusted to him as Director-General of the campaign council.

The Prayer Session was Led by Liman Dan-Alhaji Sambo and other prominent Ulamas who prayed for divine intervention to end insecurity in Zamfara State and other challenges affecting the nation.

The Imams further prayed for all those supporting the President and working for the development of Nigeria, sought Allah’s guidance and protection for them.

They also offered Special prayers for Senator Abdulazeez Yari, asking Allah to guide him and grant him the wisdom and strength to successfully discharge the responsibility entrusted to him as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

The Imams further commended Senator Yari for his continuous humanitarian gestures and support for vulnerable families across the state.

In his words, Senator Abdulazeez Yari said the engagement with the 2,933 Imams was part of a series of consultations with religious leaders with the aim of seeking their prayers for the nation, the President and the success of the 2027 campaign.

He described President Tinubu’s decision to appoint him from Zamfara State to lead the campaign as a great honour to the state and the northern region, which he said should not be taken for granted.

Senator Yari urged the Islamic scholars to use their sermons to promote peace, unity and national cohesion, stressing that, the 2027 election should not be viewed as a northern affair but as a national responsibility.

He said Nigeria’s strength lies in its unity, adding that, the country’s diversity was ordained by Almighty Allah and should be protected by all citizens.

The former Zamfara State Governor also highlighted President Tinubu’s longstanding support for northern political interests, citing his support for former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar in the 2007 presidential election and former President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 election.

Senator Yari therefore appealed to the Imams and Ulamas to support the President’s re-election bid through prayers and by encouraging their followers to maintain peace before, during and after the election.

He expressed confidence that the APC would secure victory in the 2027 election, while stressing the need for the contest to be conducted peacefully and in accordance with the law.

Senator Yari said the engagement with the Islamic scholars would continue until the end of the campaign and beyond the election.

He prayed for Allah to grant President Bola Ahmed Tinubu success, guide him in implementing his programmes for Nigeria and make the country more peaceful, prosperous and united.

The prayer session was attended by dignitaries including the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malan Mummuni, former governors, lawmakers, traditional leaders, and political stakeholders.
