Gov Nasir Idris convenes emergency meeting to strengthen Kebbi State’s security architecture

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has convened another emergency security meeting aimed at addressing emerging security challenges in some parts of Kebbi State.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Home Affairs and Internal Security, Hon. Haliru Wasagu, said the meeting was convened to review the current security situation, strengthen the state’s security architecture, and ensure the continued protection of lives and property across Kebbi State.

According to the Commissioner, the meeting focused on reviewing, fine-tuning, and reinforcing existing security strategies to ensure a more coordinated and effective response to security threats.

He noted that Governor Idris remains firmly committed to safeguarding the lives and property of the people of Kebbi State and has continued to intensify efforts toward maintaining peace, law, and order throughout the state.

“Our Governor is fully committed to flushing out criminal elements and dismantling their hideouts. Anyone found engaging in criminal activities will face the full weight of the law,” he said.

Hon. Wasagu appealed to residents to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that would assist in identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting criminal elements. He emphasized that if members of the public remain vigilant and work closely with security agencies, the fight against crime will be more effective.

The Commissioner further commended the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifices of the state’s security agencies for their continued efforts in maintaining peace, stability, and public safety across Kebbi State.
