Mass defection hits APGA in Nnewi North as 155 members join ADC to support Kingsley Obiukwu

Over 155 members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Nnewi North Local Government of Anambra State have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The event at the local government women leader’s house in Umunealum, Umudim, Nnewi on Sunday July 5 witnessed welcoming of Hon. Felicia Nneamaka Achusim and her political allies to ADC, creation of Umunealum ADC Chapter and gathering support for Kingsley Obiukwu.

Speaking Hon. Felicia Achusim, who is ADC Women Leader said she stayed in APGA for over 18 years and decided to join ADC because according to her they are organised.

Being a popular person in her community and Grassroots mobiliser, Achusim said she is loved by his community because she is a decent person and doesn’t do dirty politics.

Receiving the defectors, the party State Chairman, Chief Benchuks Nwosu commended them for the bold step, reiterated that they are fully prepared for 2027 general elections.

“This is the beginning of our Grassroots Mobilisation program. The polling booth belongs to the people.Our candidates remain the best. In ADC we vote for personality” he disclosed.

For Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, he said the personality of Kingsley Obiukwu vying for Federal House of Representatives is accepted and still remain the best candidate for the seat.

Barr. Nwosu revealed that their tap root is women, adding that with a woman you have gained three(herself, children and husband).

The ADC Candidate for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Kingsley Obiukwu said for the love of his people he decided to come out to give them a better representation.

Speaking also Prince Chijioke Ofordile, the local government party Chairman said they are ready to take over.

He said they are supporting Obiukwu from Nnewi South because Nnewi North has gone for 12 years which according to him Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency supported them, saying it is now their turn to support Nnewi South for equity and fairness.

Hon. Ndubuisi Tabugbo Unachukwu, the ADC Nnewi North Secretary said the party is united, calling on the party faithful to join hand in glove to ensure the party’s victory in the forthcoming general elections.

“Anambra is not voting for party but the personality. We have qualified ever ready candidates for all the elections” he noted.

He further noted that Nnewi South supported Nnewi North for three good times, adding it is now time for Nnewi North to pay back.

“We are giving Kingsley Obiukwu our full support because he is young and the best candidate. He has been on ground, and has gained the maximum love of the youth” he remarked.

Some of the stakeholders who spoke during the event were Chief Izuchukwu Ndum, Hon. Justina Nkiruka Nwafor among others said they are ready for the general elections, reassuring the party faithful of their commitment to delivering their candidates.
