The incumbent Controller of Association for Formidable Educational Development (AFED), Edo State Chapter, has been re-elected unopposed.
Ogundele emerged during the association’s election held on Thursday in Benin City.
The chairman of the electoral committee, Pastor Victor Akhere Ehimen, supervised the election process.Other officials elected include Dr. Peace Chukwurah as Deputy Controller, Pastor Nosa Asemota (Secretary) , Bishop Dr. Okhimamhe Emmanuel (Assistant Secretary), E-Abraham Blessing Obehi (Treasurer).
Others includes, Enakunu Nonyelum Oghenekevwe (Financial Secretary), Chaplain Umoh E. Edem (ICT Officer), Esther Omonjiade (Welfare Officer), and Esther Ekhurutomwen (Internal Auditor).
In his acceptance speech, the re-elected controller expressed gratitude to members of the association for the confidence reposed in him, describing his victory as “a collective victory for unity, progress, continuity, and the shared vision of a stronger and more impactful AFED in Edo State.”
He pledged to lead the association with transparency, accountability, and integrity while promising to strengthen the grassroots structure of AFED across the 18 local government areas of Edo State.
Ogundele also promised to improve members’ welfare and cooperative development, strengthen educational programmes and examination coordination, promote unity and professionalism, modernise the administration through digital innovation, and position AFED Edo State as a leading voice in educational development in Nigeria.
He noted, “this administration shall be open, accessible, responsive, and people-oriented.”Every member matters. Every chapter matters. Every voice matters,” the controller stated.
Ogundele called on members and stakeholders to support the new administration, stressing that the association must remain united for greater progress.
”This is not the time for division; this is the time for collaboration. This is not the time for bitterness; this is the time for rebuilding stronger bonds,” he posited.
