The General Overseer of Solution Sanctuary, Alapere, Lagos, Pastor B. Khoe Mishael, has condemned what he described as the nonchalant attitude of some church members towards spiritual matters, warning that such conduct could hinder church growth and spiritual development.

Pastor Mishael made the remarks during last Sunday’s sermon titled, “Be Spiritually Minded,” drawn from Romans 8:6, where he urged Christians to avoid carnality and focus on God’s word and spiritual growth.

According to the cleric, many challenges facing the church today are linked to the attitudes of believers who fail to remain committed and faithful in their service to God.

He stressed that Christians should not be carnally minded but spiritually focused, noting that every word of God remains true and unchangeable. He cited several Bible passages, including Galatians 6:8, Joshua 1:8, and 2 Corinthians 1:18-20, to emphasise the importance of meditating on God’s word.

The cleric also criticised the attitude of members who, according to him, chase miracles and become discouraged whenever certain ministers are absent from church services.

“As a Christian identified with a ministry, you must remain faithful, committed and show love. That is how spiritual growth comes,” he said, adding that healing, miracles and deliverance should not be the sole reason for attending church.

Pastor Mishael further urged members to attend church for the right reasons and focus on what God is doing rather than worldly desires and distractions.

Speaking ahead of the 2026 Children’s Day celebration scheduled for May 24, the Senior Prophetess, Victory Mishael, prayed for blessings, prosperity and success for families and children in the ministry and across the world.

She described the Children’s Day celebration as an opportunity to appreciate God for preserving the lives of children and protecting families from tragedy.

“Children are God’s inheritance, and this celebration is a special moment to appreciate His mercy and faithfulness,” she said.

The cleric also called on parents and guardians to continue guiding children in the fear of God and uphold moral values in society.
