The Former Speaker of the 10th Benue State House of Assembly and member representing Gboko West Constituency, Rt. Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the State House of Assembly billed to hold tomorrow, Wednesday, 20th May, 2026.

Contained in a press statement signed by Agber Kulugh, Media Aide to the former Speaker, and made available to Journalists on Tuesday, explained that Dajoh’s decision follows the manipulation and lack of transparency that have characterized the ongoing APC primary elections conducted across the state.

He further explained that reports and developments from the primaries already conducted clearly indicate that the process has been heavily compromised.

“In several instances, result sheets were allegedly pre-filled before exercise, while in many areas, election materials never reached designated voting centres despite winners being announced.

“Under such circumstances, participating in the House of Assembly primary election would amount to legitimizing a process that evidently lacks credibility, fairness, and democratic integrity.” Dajoh maintained.

The former Speaker appreciated his overwhelming supporters, stakeholders, delegates, youths, women, and party faithful across Gboko West Constituency and the entire Gboko Local Government Area for their unwavering support, commitment, loyalty, and confidence in his leadership and vision for the people of Gboko West Constituency and beyond.

He urged all his supporters and political associates to remain calm and peaceful while awaiting further directives.

Rt. Hon. Dajoh remains deeply committed to the peace, unity, and development of Gboko West, and sincerely appreciates the solidarity shown to him by the people.
