Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has commended the member representing Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Garba Rabiu Kamba, for his sustained commitment in empowering his constituents through impactful interventions.

The Governor gave the commendation on Monday at the Local Government Secretariat in Kamba during the distribution of empowerment items, describing Hon. Kamba as a man of integrity with a proven track record in service and community development.

He noted that the initiative was not driven by personal gain but aimed at delivering the true dividends of democracy to the people.

Governor Idris acknowledged the presence of dignitaries at the occasion and emphasized that such interventions complement government efforts, noting that “ the hand of the Governor cannot reach everywhere,” but through democracy and collective leadership, the needs of the people can be effectively addressed.

The Governor highlighted the importance of the empowerment programme, stating that various items distributed were meant to improve livelihoods and support economic activities.

He however, issued a stern warning to beneficiaries against selling the items, stressing that they were strictly for empowerment purposes.

According to him, anyone found selling the items, as well as those purchasing them, would be arrested and prosecuted. He advised those unwilling to utilise the items to decline them so they could be reassigned to more deserving beneficiaries.

Governor Idris further directed security agencies to monitor the distribution process to ensure compliance, adding that it would be unfair for individuals to deny others the opportunity to benefit by converting the items into quick cash.

He observed that the achievements recorded by both the state government and elected representatives within less than three years were commendable, and expressed appreciation to Hon. Kamba for bringing meaningful development to his constituency.

In his remarks, Hon. Garba Rabiu Kamba, member representing Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful hosting of the programme, describing it as a step towards improving the lives of the people of Arewa and Dandi.

He stated that the initiative was inspired by the leadership example of Governor Nasir Idris, who has consistently prioritized development across Kebbi State.

He explained that as representatives, they are guided by the Governor’s directive to ensure that whatever support secured at the federal level is brought back home to directly benefit the people.

He listed items distributed to include five vehicles for local government chairmen, motorcycles for ward leaders, sewing machines, grinding machines, refrigerators for women, and various agricultural inputs.

Also speaking, the Ambassador-Designate to Turkey, Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari and former Governor of Kebbi State, commended the pace of development under the current administration, noting that significant progress had been achieved within short period.

He urged the people to remain patient and supportive, assuring that more developmental strides would be recorded in the coming years.

Earlier, the Chairman of the KECHEMA Governing Board, Alhaji Abubakar Bala Gado, highlighted numerous constituency projects executed by Hon. Kamba across sectors including youth and women empowerment, education, healthcare, agriculture, water supply, rural electrification, and employment opportunities for youths.

Items distributed during the event included 5 vehicles, 200 motorcycles, 200 deep freezers, 200 irrigation pumps, and 200 chemical sprayers.

Governor Idris performed the symbolic presentation of some of the items to selected beneficiaries.

The event attracted top Government officials, large turnout of community members, party supporters, and political leaders from across Arewa and Dandi Local Government Areas.
