The Nigeria Union Of Teachers, NUT Kebbi state chapter under the leadership of the Chairman Comrade Zaki Sarki SK congratulate their best performing Comrade, Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu over the honour of international traditional title of Saurdauna Dosso bestowed on him by Emir of Niger Republic His Highness Djermakoye Ahmadou Sounna Saidou, the Sultan of Dosso, describing it as well deserved.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the NUT Kebbi State Chairman, Comrade Zaki Sarki Sk and the State Secretary, comrade Gazali Hassan Maccido and made available to Journalists in Birnin Kebbi the state capital.

The statement read as followed; the entire leadership and membership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kebbi State Chapter, with immense pride and joy, extend our warmest and most profound congratulations to our amiable and visionary leader, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, on the prestigious conferment of the traditional title of Sardaunan Dosso by His Highness Djermakoye Ahmadou Sounna Saidou, the Sultan of Dosso, Republic of Niger.

This historic and well deserved honour, which was formally conferred through Decree Number 012/SD/2026 at a colourful ceremony held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Birnin Kebbi, is a powerful testament to Your Excellency’s exemplary leadership, tireless dedication to service, and transformative impact across Kebbi State and beyond.

We note with great admiration that the Sultanate of Dosso specifically cited Your Excellency’s remarkable strides in infrastructural and human capital development, your promotion of peace and cross-border cooperation, and your steadfast commitment to strengthening traditional institutions and fostering unity among communities that share a common history, culture, and faith.

As teachers and key stakeholders in the development of our dear state, we are especially proud that this international recognition comes at a time when Your Excellency’s administration has continued to prioritize education, workers’ welfare, and inclusive governance. Indeed, you have shown that leadership rooted in humility, competence, and compassion earns respect both at home and across international borders.

The conferment of “Sardaunan Dosso” is not just a personal honour to you, Your Excellency, but also a great pride to the entire people of Kebbi State, to Nigeria, and to the teaching profession which you so proudly represent as a Comrade and life member of the NUT.

On this auspicious occasion, we pray the Almighty ALLAH (SWT) to continue to bless you with wisdom, strength, good health, and divine protection as you steer the affairs of our state to greater heights. May this new royal feather on your cap open more doors of development, unity, and prosperity for Kebbi State and strengthen the unbreakable bond between Nigeria and our brothers in the Republic of Niger.
