As the All Edo State prepares for the local government election, the state’s deputy governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa has sued for peace within the ranks of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the party to emege victorious success in the poll.
According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Friday Aghedo, the deputy governor made the call during the unveiling of the party’s candidate in Wednesday at Iguobazuwa, Ovia South West local government area.
While commending the party’s leadership for zoning of the chairmanship candidate for the April 3 poll, Idahosa noted that the zoning helped prevent what would have been a challenge to the APC.
He asserted that the move helped promote equity, fairness and justice, peace, and unity within the party.
While commending the people of Ovia South West, for their belief in internal democracy, he said, Udo Ward has never produced a Council Chairman since the inception of politics in Ovia South West.
“We, the leadership of Ovia South West chapter of the APC, sat and considered it. We had a couple of meetings before now, and today, we presented our preferred candidate.”
Speaking on the party’s choice, he said, Osarobo Anthony is an Ovia South West person, he was born and raised in Udo Community and understands what the average people in the rural areas are going through, which is a good point for us.
“Also, as a young person who is well read, majority of the youths support him. He is a very competent person. Very reliable. He is loyal to the party and very committed to whatever he believes in.
“He is very reliable to the value and principles of our great party. We, the leadership of the party of Ovia South West are very happy with him.”
Idahosa noted that the selection of APC Councillorship nominees across the ten wards was seamless, just like the party flagbearer.
He appealed to those who felt otherwise about the party’s position to work with the choice of the majority.
Mr. Emmanuel Ogbomo, local government chairman of the party, appeals to all to work with unity of purpose ahead the council poll.
