The Former Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Chief Simon Okeke, has said that any Igbo man supporting President Bola Tinubu for a second term is doing so out of ignorance.

Chief Okeke made the assertion during an interview session with some journalists at his Amichi over the, weekend. He insisted that the ideal thing politically for Nigeria is to support an Igbo man to succeed President Bola Tinubu, adding that any Igbo man who does not support this should have his or her DNA examined to determine whether the person is truly of Igbo origin.

He also insisted that the Nigerian President of Igbo extraction would no doubt usher in true national unity.

Chief Okeke argued that the 2023 Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi stands a chance to turn around Nigeria for the better as President.

He added that even if he and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) join the All Progressives Congress (APC) en masse, he remains an Igbo man with the potential to fix the country.

The former Police boss expressed concern that President Tinubu during his recent trip to the United Kingdom signed a £746 million financing agreement with Britain for the development of Apapa and Tin Can Island ports in Lagos.

The deal, backed by UK Export Finance, aims to modernize the ports, improve efficiency, and strengthen Nigeria’s trade capacity. He said the deal was sealed without any mention of the South East or even Port Harcourt.

Chief Okeke tasked the South East Governors to fight for railways with standard gauge for the South East zone which he said are already in the South West and some other parts of the North.

He declared that South East must not be excluded from the railway project with standard gauge

He also wondered why gas should be tapped from Anambra to finance developmental projects elsewhere.

He particularly urged Governor Charles Soludo to be in the forefront, as the only Professor among the South East Governors, on the issue of standard gauge railway for the zone and other areas of marginalization.

“Governor Soludo should also sustain his tempo in security architecture and see how he can work jointly with other Governors to sustain that, “he further added.

He commended Governor Soludo on his efforts to give Ndị Anambra ga ood road network. He said the Governor has done very well in road infrastructure.
