By: John Bassey, Kebbi.

Following the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs’ declaration of the commencement of Ramadan fasting, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has approved the reduction of official working hours for public servants in the state.

This is contained in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Establishment, Pension and Training, Hafsat Ibrahim Tune, and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

She said: “The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, has approved the reduction of the official working hours by two hours during the current Ramadan fasting period.

“The new working hours are as follows: Monday to Thursday is 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while Friday is 8:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m.”

Ibrahim Tune said that, in light of the new development, workers across the state were expected to be at their places of work up to 2:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

She, however, said the normal official working hours would resume at the end of the Ramadan period.
