The Ogun State Government has strengthened its collaboration with aluminum recyclers in the state, promising to provide an enabling environment for them to thrive in their businesses.

The renewed partnership is being driven through the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) as part of efforts to address operational challenges and promote harmony within the recycling industry.

This development was made public during a courtesy visit by members of the Aluminum Recyclers Association to the OGEPA office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, where they were received by the agency’s General Manager, Hon. Kehinde Bello.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Bello noted that the engagement was aimed at strengthening collaboration, resolving operational bottlenecks, and fostering unity among industry operators.

He emphasized the importance of recycling, highlighting its role in reducing environmental pollution and creating employment opportunities for residents of the state.

“We are committed to supporting harmony among members and ensuring a level playing field for all operators,” he said.

Hon. Bello, however, urged the association to strictly comply with environmental regulations, particularly in areas of waste disposal and emission control. He stressed that recycling activities must not pose health risks to host communities.

He added that OGEPA remains open to engaging with all operators and relevant stakeholders to promote an environmentally friendly and sustainable workspace across the state.

In his response, the Chairman of the association, Alhaji Kamoru Mudashiru, expressed appreciation to the agency’s management for providing the platform for dialogue and collaboration.

Alhaji Mudashiru pledged the association’s full cooperation with OGEPA in sustaining a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment throughout Ogun State.
