Kebbi State Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has sympathised with the people of Garin Kestu Atuwo Ward in Shanga Local Government Area over a heavy rainfall that destroyed over 240 houses.

Consoling the victims on Wednesday, the governor advised the affected households to take it as an act of God Almighty.

Gov. Idris, who was represented by the Hon. Chairman of Shanga Local Government, Alhaji Audu Dan Audu, recalled that the heavy rain, which fell on Tuesday night, destroyed houses and property worth millions of Naira.

He, however, gave glory to God Almighty because no life was lost.

“The governor asked me to come and console you people and to assess the level of damages done; in Sha Allah, the government will support those affected,” he assured.

He then appealed to them to be patient as very soon the state government would extend hands of support to them including building materials.
