City shut Arsenal fans up, slash gap to two points

Manchester City once again reminded Arsenal that no lead is ever safe when Pep Guardiola’s machine hits full throttle.

The former champions rolled into Selhurst Park with quiet menace after Arsenal scraped past Wolves 2-1 on Saturday.

That narrow win had briefly inflated Arsenal’s cushion to five points, sending premature title chatter across North London.

Crystal Palace nearly ruined City’s script early, flying out of the blocks and rattling the visitors with fearless intent.

But inevitability arrived before half-time as Erling Haaland towered above everyone to nod City ahead.

After the break, Phil Foden slammed in a second to drain the life out of the contest, before Haaland calmly sealed it with a late penalty.
