The Nigerian Society of Engineers(NSE) has formally conferred Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, with the prestigious Honorary Fellowship of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, one of the institution’s highest recognitions.
A letter earlier issued by the NSE Council disclosed that the minister was found deserving of the award assigned Fellowship Number HF0043 in recognition of his “immense contributions to the promotion of engineering and national development.
” The conferment ceremony was held during the opening session of the conference at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan”.
NSE leaders praised the Minister’s long-standing commitment to infrastructure renewal, urban modernization, and reforms in the construction and transportation sectors.
Participants also highlighted the government’s recent initiatives aimed at improving road quality, revamping maintenance culture, and strengthening the engineering workforce.
In his address, the minister congratulated the Society for hosting a successful international conference and encouraged engineers to embrace emerging technologies, explore new ideas, and forge partnerships that would lift Nigeria’s engineering capability to global standards.
