The Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation (CBAAC) has paid tribute to an encyclopaedia of African history, Professor Abdulgafar Siyan Oyeweso, following his demise.
The Director-General of CBAAC, Hon. Aisha Adamu Augie, along with the entire staff of the agency, mourned the passing of Professor Oyeweso, describing him as an encyclopaedia of African history.
Professor Abdulgafar Siyan Oyeweso was a former Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University.
In a statement signed and released by the Director-General, reads “The Management and Staff of the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation (CBAAC) mourn the passing of Prof. Abdulgafar Siyan Oyeweso, former Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of Obafemi Awolowo University.
“A distinguished African historian, proud CBAAC alumnus, and dedicated mentor, his scholarship and leadership inspired many.
“We extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the academic community. May his soul rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to guide us.” the statement conclude
