The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has firmly debunked circulating videos and social media posts alleging that the party has hand-picked a candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

In an official statement, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, clarified that the claims are “false and should be disregarded.” He stressed that the ADC has already released a comprehensive timetable for its governorship primaries, which has been “widely publicised” to guide all aspirants.

Abdullahi emphasized that every hopeful must strictly comply with the party’s guidelines as preparations intensify ahead of the primaries.

Reiterating the ADC’s internal values, he assured party members and the public that the ADC remains unwavering in its commitment to free, fair and transparent electoral processes, noting that internal democracy stands at the core of the party’s identity.

The spokesperson added that the party will continue to provide updates to prevent misinformation as the 2026 Osun governorship race gathers momentum.
