The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council, says the Union is marking the first anniversary of its current Executive led by Comrade Tonye Yemoleigha, as members of the Council will be reflecting on the journey so far.
In a Press Statement, the NUJ Secretary, Comrade Stanley Imgbi said the End of Year get-together will be preceded by a brief Congress, to allow for a relaxed atmosphere where Council members and friends of the media can wine and dine while X-raying the performance of the Comrade Yemoleigha Executive, which promised a New Paradigm before November 16 last year when it was elected and inaugurated.
According to the statement, an appraisal of the Union’s activities within the last year will help strengthen its focus and build on accomplished areas, and serve members of the Council better.
The programme, slated for 4:00 pm this Thursday, is to be Chaired by a former State Lawmaker and business mogul, Chief Robert Ayalla Enogha, Chairman, CEO of Emily Global; the Guest of Honour is Honourable (Mrs) Ebizi Ndiomu-Brown, Chairman House Committee on Information, Bayelsa State House of Assembly while the Special Guest of Honour is Honourable (Mrs) Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy.
The statement enjoins all Journalists in the state, as well as friends of the Media, to attend.
