Falconets crush Ghana 3–0 to clinch WAFU B U20 Girls’ cup crown

Nigeria’s Falconets continued their dominance in women’s youth football after cruising past Ghana with a convincing 3–0 victory to lift the WAFU B U20 Girls’ Cup in Bénin Republic on Tuesday.

Janet Akekoromowei set the tone early with a fine strike in the 17th minute, before Alaba Olabiyi doubled Nigeria’s lead just seven minutes later to put the Falconets firmly in control. Ramotalahi Kareem sealed the triumph with a well-taken goal on the hour mark, rounding off a commanding performance.

Both Akekoromowei and Kareem finished the tournament with three goals apiece, underlining their importance in coach Moses Aduku’s free-scoring side.

The victory capped an impressive campaign for Nigeria, which finished with a perfect nine points and a remarkable +8 goal difference, scoring three goals in each of their three matches.

The Falconets will wrap up their campaign with a friendly clash against host nation Benin Republic’s Young Amazons on Wednesday morning, a chance to further showcase their dominance in the sub-regional competition.
