The Delta State Police Command, weekend, said it found a fabricated Beretta pistol carefully hidden in a loaf of bread while on a stop-and-search operation at the popular Koka roundabout in Asaba, the state capital.

The State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi commended the professionalism of the operatives while advising the public to always provide useful information which he assured will be treated with confidentiality.

The suspected robber and kidnapper found with the pistol, Nnamdi Stanley Chibuike, aged 24, necessitated a thorough search over his suspicious behavior by the Rapid Response Squad.

SP Bright Dafe, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Delta Command, said the suspect was arrested and taken to police custody for investigations to unravel any connection “with incidents of armed robbery and kidnapping within the Asaba metropolis and adjoining communities”.
