In preparation for the 2026 Hajj exercise, the Zamfara State Hajj Commission, led by the Executive Chairman Alhaji Musa Mallaha, Talban Gusau, alongside partners and stakeholders deliberated on the possible developments that could be achieved as 2026 Hajj exercise approaches.

The meeting which held at the conference Hall of the commission in Gusau was aimed at informing partners and stakeholders about the NAHCON’s guidelines and the strategy to reduce the high cost of this year’s pilgrimage.

In a statement issued by Abubakar Aliyu the Public Relations Officer (PRO-2) of
Zamfara Hajj Commission to Journalists in Gusau, it was revealed that the key points discussed at the meeting were the medical guidelines released by the Saudi government for the 2026 Hajj, which emphasize mandatory vaccinations such as COVID-19, Meningitis, Polio, and Yellow Fever.

Intending pilgrims must present proof of these vaccinations in their International Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Card) to ensure compliance and entry into Mecca.

During the meeting, Part-time Members of the Commission commended the Chairman for his proactive approach, highlighting the importance of timely preparation for the successful execution of the Hajj Exercise. They also called for similar discounts on Hajj fares as provided for Christians going on pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

The Executive Chairman mentioned that the declining value of the Dollar may lead to a decrease in Hajj fares, pending the President’s declaration on the matter. The Commission, represented by its Public Relations Officer Ibrahim M. Umar G/Tsika, reiterated their commitment to ensuring a successful Hajj Exercise this year.

Additionally, a visit from the state House of Assembly representatives, led by Ibrahim Maza Waje, praised the Commission’s preparations and urged them to continue their good work.

The Zamfara State Hajj Commission is dedicated to ensuring a smooth and cost-effective 2026 Hajj Exercise and will work closely with all stakeholders to achieve this goal.
