The Sokoto State Police Command and Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company’s new Regional Manager, Mr. Salisu Shanono Malami, have agreed to collaborate on improving service delivery and enhancing community safety.

Key areas of cooperation include preventing vandalism and theft of electricity infrastructure, providing security for technical staff working on fault lines, especially in remote areas, managing community relations, and collaborating on public outreach and engagement during service disruptions and revenue collection activities.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ahmad Rufai, stated that both parties recognize the importance of a secure environment for socio-economic growth and the effective delivery of essential services such as electricity. He added that the partnership aims to foster a stable and prosperous community across Sokoto State.

This collaboration underscores the significance of public-private partnerships in tackling security challenges and improving service delivery in Nigeria. Through joint efforts, the police and utility companies can strengthen community well-being and promote sustainable development.
