CIoD Nigeria unveils 2025 Annual Directors’ Conference theme —’Leading Through Change’

The Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD) Nigeria has officially announced the theme and key details for its 2025 Annual Directors’ Conference (ADC2025), scheduled to hold from October 22 to 23, 2025, at the Abuja Continental Hotel.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Institute’s National Secretariat in Lagos on September 24, 2025, where top officials unveiled the theme: “Leading Through Change: Building Sustainable and Inclusive Enterprises.”

Speaking at the briefing, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of CIoD Nigeria, Otunba Adetunji A. Oyebanji, FCIoD, described the conference as the cornerstone of the Institute’s advocacy and leadership development efforts.

“This period of change is not merely a threat; it is a profound opportunity, an opportunity to forge a new path, redefine our purpose, and build institutions that are not only resilient but also impactful and reflective of the world we serve,”
Oyebanji said.

He emphasized that the conference would provide a vital platform for directors, policymakers, and business leaders to address the pressing challenges facing the Nigerian economy, particularly in the areas of good governance, inclusivity, and sustainability.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the National Organising Committee (NOC), Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, MCIoD, highlighted the consistency of the Institute’s thought leadership in fostering excellence in corporate governance.

“This year, we are saying clearly that leaders must not only survive change but lead through it, building enterprises that are sustainable, innovative, and inclusive. This is how we, as directors, contribute to the urgent task of nation building,”
Ashiru said.

The two-day event is expected to attract an impressive lineup of dignitaries, policymakers, and industry captains.

Among the key figures slated to attend are:

Special Guest of Honour: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Conference Chairman: Dr. Shamsuddeen Usman, CON, Chairman, Ministry of Finance Incorporated.
Keynote Speaker: Mr. Kola Adesina, MCIoD, Group Managing Director, Sahara Power Group.

Other notable guests include the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Hon. Bosun Tijani; Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Dr. Emomotimi Agama; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni; and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

A special highlight of the conference will be the “Business Meets Government Dinner” on Thursday, October 23, 2025, designed to create a high-level platform for dialogue and collaboration between the public and private sectors.
