ZAMAF calls for intensified prayers for peace, end to insecurity in Zamfara

By: John Bassey, Zamfara.

The Zamfara Media advocacy forum (ZAMAF) has called on the urgent attention of the public, religious leaders, community stakeholders, and the entire Peace- loving citizens of Zamfara state to the need of intensified prayers and unwavering support for the ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace in our dear state.

In light of the continued security Challenges plaguing various parts of Zamfara, ZAMAF welcome and commend the firm and courageous stance taken by His Excellency, Governor Dauda lawal, who has publicly reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fighting insecurity without any reconciliation or negotiation with armed bandits and criminal elements.

This uncompromising position is a clear signed that the era of appeasing those who threaten the peace and stability of our communities is over. The Governor has made it abundantly clear that his administration will not engage in any form of dialogue, then no time for doing so with those who have taken up arms against innocent citizens.

Equally, this approach rooted in justice and accountability, is a major step forward in reclaiming Zamfara from the grip of violence. We at ZAMAF believe that the government’s actions are in the best interest of the people, and we invoke the Almighty Allah (SWT) who is All- knowing and All- seeing, to be witness to the sincerity and truth behind these efforts.

We pray that He exposes all those- whether in position of power or within our communities- who are secretly connected with or benefiting from the banditry devastating our land, may Allah disgrace those who shield evil and reward those working for peace and justice.

The Zamfara Media advocacy forum (ZAMAF) also call on citizens to intensify prayers, particularly in mosques, churches, homes, and Community gatherings. Let us ask for devine intervention and guidance for our leaders, protection for our security personnel, and total restoration of peace and stability across Zamfara state.

Furthermore, let us remember that the battle against insecurity is not only the government’s responsibility- it is a collective duty. While the government intensifies security operatives, let every one of us intensify our prayers, remain vigilant, support lawful efforts, and resist any attempt to sabotage the peace we all long for.

While the Government continues to deploy resources and strategies to end insecurity, the role of the people remains vital. We must not be silent, indifferent, or divided, Rather, we must unite in both spiritual and practical support, standing firm against those who wish to see our state in ruins.

As we pray for peace in Zamfara, Zamfara shall rise again, stronger, safer, and more united than ever.
