By: Goodluck E. Adubazi, Abuja.

In a significant step toward addressing poverty, inequality, and sustainable development across Africa and the Global South, the Waterlight Save Initiative has unveiled its groundbreaking I-HEAL Framework ahead of the upcoming Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Qatar.

The I-HEAL Framework—short for Incomes, Health, Education, Access to Water, and Living Standards—was introduced as a transformative blueprint designed to accelerate inclusive development, empower grassroots leadership, and foster global partnerships for systemic change.

The announcement comes as preparations intensify for the I-HEAL Event, scheduled to take place from November 4–5, 2025, in Doha. The high-profile summit will gather international leaders, youth innovators, policymakers, civil society actors, and UN partners under the theme: “The I-HEAL Blueprint: Catalytic Transformation for Equity, Access, and Human Flourishing Across Africa and Beyond.”

“I-HEAL is not just a framework. It is a movement. A call to action. A new development narrative where dignity, access, and opportunity are not privileges, but rights for all,” said Dr. Engr. Prince Ero Ibhafidon, Founder and President of the Waterlight Save Initiative.

Eight Pillars for Inclusive Change

At the heart of the I-HEAL initiative are eight strategic pillars aimed at tackling the multidimensional challenges of poverty and exclusion:

1. Sustainable Livelihoods & Social Protection
2. Climate Justice & Health Equity
3. Digital Inclusion for Social Development
4. Youth-Led Innovation for Social Change.
5. Community Resilience & Disaster Preparedness.
6. Migration, Mobility & Social Integration
7. Gender Equity & Intersectional Justice.
8. Participatory Governance & Civic Engagement.

The two-day summit in Qatar will feature high-level dialogues, grassroots panel discussions, youth innovation showcases, interactive workshops on key themes such as gender, digital equity, and migration, as well as cultural exhibitions to bridge community voices with global policy action.

The initiative also reflects the Waterlight Save Initiative’s broader mission to center communities in development, leveraging data-driven strategies, diaspora engagement, and cross-sector collaboration to dismantle systemic inequalities.

Aligning with Global Goals

Standard Times Nigeria reports that the I-HEAL Framework is designed to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and align with the Doha Declaration on Social Development, aiming to forge stronger policy pathways and cross-regional solidarity for equitable development.

The Waterlight Save Initiative, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with UN ECOSOC accreditation, operates across Africa and the global diaspora. Its focus areas include clean water access, youth empowerment, healthcare, education, climate resilience, and diaspora reintegration.
