Gbonyin LCDA Chairman’s wife supports 40 families of multiple births with cash, food items

It was a moment of unexpected windfall for about 40 families with multiple births in Gbonyin LCDA of Ekiti at the weekend, as wife of the Chairman, Mrs Temitayo Ajayi splashed cash and material gifts on them.
The event, which took place at the residence of the chairman in Ijan Ekiti was witnessed by cross-section of residents, who showered encomiums and eulogies on the donor, for her spirit of kindness and benevolence.
At the occasion, no fewer than 40 families of multiple births, including twins and triplets, benefitted.
Each of the families was given both cash gift and food stuffs by the wife of the chairman.
Explaining the reason behind her actions, Mrs Ajayi said it was a follow-up to activities of wife of the State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, whose love for children is well known and fondly acknowledged by the people.
She commended her for leading by example, and also for her various developmental activities, aimed at lifting, and improving lives of women and children in Ekiti State.
She therefore called on mothers of multiple children, present at the event, to see the kind gesture, extended to them as act of love from the present administration in Ekiti State.
She also urged them to endeavour to teach the children, in the way of God, and take every aspects of their growth with seriousness it deserves, so that the children can become great men and women in future.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Gbonyin LCDA, Mr. Benedict Oluwadamilare Ajayi, commended his wife for taking after the good works of wife of Ekiti State Governor, especially in the area of attaching priority attention to issues affecting families, women and children.
Ajayi recalled with delight, that it was the wife of the governor that gave marching order to the wives of chairmen, to go to their respective Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas, to replicate her initiative, at the grassroots.
According to him, there is no doubting the fact that the kindness, extended to the families with multiple births in the council area, would ameliorate challenges facing them in raising and nurturing the children, especially at this critical time.
He maintained that the wife of the governor had continually showed interest in the upliftment of families with multiple births, through donation of cash gifts, empowerment materials and food stuffs, among others.
While congratulating the parents for the special gift of twins and triplet they received, he called on the parents to take proper care of the children, and instil moral values in them, saying the future of Nigeria depends on them.
Also speaking, wife of Ado Local Government, Mrs Anike Osaloni, commended her counterpart in Gbonyin for the good gesture, and thanked the wife of the governor, Mrs Oyebanji for her initiative, and for supporting wives of chairmen of councils in Ekiti state.
She enjoined the mothers present at the event to support the present administration in Ekiti State, to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
