By: TUNDE BOLAJI MINNA.

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has ordered the closure of a Private FM Radio Station in the state capital for alleged role in inciting violence.

The governor issued this directive during an expanded meeting of the Niger State APC Caucus held at the Government House in Minna.

He explained that the decision was made because the daily activities of the radio station had been deemed unethical.

Governor Bago also accused the owner of the station of inciting the public against the government and directed that the station’s license be revoked.

Additionally, the governor instructed the Commissioner for Homeland Security and the Commissioner of Police to seal the radio station, emphasizing the need for security operatives to profile the station’s owner, as the station has been promoting violence.
