Gov Bago mourns late President Buhari, extends condolences to Gov’t, people of Katsina

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, mourns the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.

The governor describes the former president as an elder statesman who has etched his name in the annals of Nigeria’s history.

He observes that former President Buhari has been a very disciplined personality and lived a life of service to humanity and dedication to nation-building.

The governor maintains that the deceased is an icon of integrity and patriotism from when he was a military officer to when he became the Head of State in 1983 and was democratically elected as President in 2015 and 2019.

He recalls that the deceased had remained steadfast in fighting corruption and making Nigeria better throughout his administration, especially through the numerous initiatives introduced by his government, such as the expansion of rail lines, construction, and rehabilitation of major roads, establishment of the Social Investment Programmes (SIP), and agricultural and security reforms, among others, amidst daunting challenges.

Governor Bago says the legacies and contributions of President Buhari to the project Nigeria, despite the challenges, cannot be forgotten in a hurry.

He extends his deepest condolences to the family of former President Buhari, the government, and the people of Katsina State over the great loss.

The governor prays that Allah will forgive all the shortcomings of the deceased and grant him Aljanna Firdausi.
