Tinubu commissions Mabushi Bus Terminal, praises Wike’s dedication

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, for his dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence in discharging his duties.
In ampress statement from Assistant Director Press Office of the Minister, Rabi Umaru Musa, on Tuesday, the President made the commendation on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, during the commissioning of the newly constructed Mabushi bus and taxi terminal in Abuja.
The Mabushi bus terminal is designed to modernize transportation in the FCT, providing a secure, well-regulated environment for citizens to board their vehicles. President Tinubu described the facility as a tangible symbol of the Federal Government’s commitment to the safety, security, and prosperity of FCT residents and other Nigerians.
The facility features a one-story building designed for both intercity and intra-city commuting, with amenities such as: Food courts, Cinemas, Public convenience, Nursing room, Escalators, CCTV facilities and ATM for money transactions
The President stressed that the provision of the bus terminal will bring order, safety, and accountability to public transportation in the FCT, addressing the menace of car robbery, popularly known as “one chance.” The facility will operate on a 24-hour basis with dedicated power supply and adequate provision of water for sanitary and safety purposes.
The FCT Minister disclosed plans to construct additional bus terminals in Gwagwalada, Bwari, and Kuje Area Councils of the FCT to complement those in the Abuja city centre and improve connectivity between the Capital City and the satellite towns. The facilities will be given out to the private sector to ensure efficient management.
The Minister of Transport, Sen. Sa’idu Ahmed Alkali, thanked President Tinubu for his support to the transportation sector and extended appreciation to the FCT minister for the laudable initiative, pledging the support of the transport ministry through collaboration with the FCTA to sustain the initiative.
