Kebbi Student Union leader’s pass vote of confidence on Gov Idris

The Coalition of Student Union Leaders across tertiary institutions in Kebbi State has passed a Vote of Confidence on the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu.
This was done to recognize his swift and decisive leadership concerns in addressing the recent abduction of a student of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), Mr. Augustine Madubiya.
The vote of confidence was passed during a joint press briefing held on Thursday, 10th April 2025, at the government house Press Centre, Birnin Kebbi.
The student leaders commended the Governor for the timely rescue of the abducted student without the payment of ransom.
They described it as a testament to Gov. Idris’ unwavering commitment to the safety and security of residents, especially students.
Speaking on behalf of the coalition, Comrade Isah Suleiman Libata, National President of the National Union of Kebbi State Students (NUKESS) and Chairman of the forum, expressed gratitude to the Governor for making security a top priority in his administration.
The students also extended appreciation to key stakeholders who contributed to the success of the rescue mission, including:the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani,the Vice Chancellor of FUBK, Professor Muhammad Zayyan Umar,the security operatives for their intelligence and bravery,
Others include,the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, for his strategic coordination and Alhaji Abdulrahman Usman Zagga, Director of Security, Kebbi State, whom they described as a vibrant youth and symbol of inclusive leadership.
A special commendation was also given to Hon. Muhammad Muhammad Majo, Special Adviser on Student Affairs, for representing the voice of the students in government.
The students described the Governor’s actions as exemplary and called on all stakeholders to continue supporting his administration to build a safer and more inclusive Kebbi State.
The press conference was jointly organised by the Coalition of Student Union Leaders.
They pledged their total support to the administration of Governor Nasir Idris and reaffirmed their confidence in his visionary leadership.
