The President of the Nigeria Baseball and Softball Association (NBSA), Uche Odozor, has expressed deep appreciation for the growing support of baseball and softball in Nigeria, following a high-profile visit by Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, Chairman and CEO of Rano Oil, to the Diplomatic Village in Abuja.

During the interactive session, which was attended by top executives from Rano Oil, including Sabiu S. Mahuta, Executive Director of Business Development, and Malam Yakubu Yusuf Usman, Executive Director of Rano Refinery, Odozor highlighted the potential of baseball and softball as tools for youth empowerment.

The event also welcomed the presence of Ambassador H.E. Florin Talapan and Ambassador Faruk Yabo, further emphasizing the significance of the meeting.

Odozor presented baseball and softball souvenirs to Rano and his delegation in appreciation of their support, acknowledging Rano’s commitment to youth development and the fight against social challenges such as out-of-school children.

“Baseball and softball have the power to shape young lives, instill discipline, and provide opportunities for our youth. With the right support, we can create lasting change,” Odozor stated. He expressed confidence that Rano’s involvement would help advance the association’s mission to make baseball and softball more accessible across Nigeria.

In response, Rano reaffirmed his dedication to working with NBSA, recognizing sports as a crucial avenue for youth engagement and social transformation. His commitment signals a new chapter for baseball and softball in Nigeria, as the association looks to expand its reach and impact.

With continued collaboration, NBSA is poised to harness the power of sports in addressing societal challenges and unlocking opportunities for young Nigerian athletes.
