The People’s Democratic Party PDP, in Niger state said it found the statements of Senator Sani an eyesore on the floor of the Senate.
This was made known by the State Vice Chairman and Zonal Chairman Niger North, Honourable Yahaya Ability when he addressed the media in his hometown Kontagora,
He was reacting to the alleged Senator Sani Musa’s statement describing Baro Port road as “nothing” and should be forgotten as a failure of the APC-led administration.
Honorable Yahaya Ability said such a statement from a sitting Senator represents a failure in leadership,
Honorable Yahaya Ability further reveals that Senator Sani Musa’s statement dismissing Baro Port road as “nothing” and claiming “no one is there” is not only inaccurate but also an insult to the people of Niger State.
Nothing that is particularly an insult to those in the Baro area who have long anticipated the port’s road full operationalization.
Such a statement from a sitting senator he noted, represents a failure in leadership, as it suggests a lack of vision and commitment to equitable development across the state.
Rather than belittling Baro Port Road, the PDP vice chairman advised Senator Musa should be championing efforts to make it functional.
He should be pushing for infrastructure development, and advocating for policies that attract investment to the area.
The port and the road, “if fully utilized, has the potential to boost economic activities, create jobs, and reduce the pressure on road transport by facilitating inland waterway trade.”
He declared, “This type of leadership, where certain regions are disregarded instead of being developed, exemplifies the neglect that has plagued Niger State under the APC.
“it further justifies the call for a political change in 2027. The people of Niger State need representation that values and promotes the development of all parts of the state, not just select areas. ”
He assured that the PDP, with its commitment to fairness and inclusive growth, stands as a better alternative to drive real progress.
“With this mindset, Senator Sani Musa should prepare to be voted out in favor of the PDP leaders who understand governance and equitable development.”, he added.
