Anambra 2025: 10 YPP ward Councilorship candidates defect to APC

Today, All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded another win in Anambra State with key figures in the Young Progressive Party(YPP) defecting to APC, throwing their weight behind governorship aspirant Sir Paul Chukwuma.
The prominent politicians, including 10 ward councilorship candidates under YPP in the just concluded Local Government election with their numerous followers, were received by the Nnewi North APC Chairman, Hon.Innocent Orizu.
The new APC members led by Hon.Chimaobi Okonkwo(Anunebe) said they joined APC to pitch tents with the ruling party in Nigeria.
They stressed that APC has the capacity and candidates that have all it takes to win elections in Nigeria, reaffirming that the party would take over Anambra State in the November 8, 2025, governorship election.
They further said they joined the party to sustain the legacy the late Ubah left behind.
They affirmatively said Sir Paul Chukwuma can sustain Late Ubah’s legacy, and strongly pledged their unalloyed support for the APC aspirant, Sir Paul Chukwuma.
The APC Chairman, Nnewi North, Hon. Innocent Orizu, was joined by APC Stakeholders and house member, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, to welcome the new entrants at the Obi Umudim’s Palace.
Sir Paul Chukwuma, represented by Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor said he was impressed with the crowd present at the occasion. He thanked and appreciated the 10 YPP councilorship candidates who joined them today, promising them to be of immense help in ensuring their security and welfare.
