NAUTH welcomes new Board Chairman, praises Tinubu for his love for Igbos

The Chief Medical Director of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Prof. Joseph Ugboaja OON, has said with the New Board Chairman of NAUTH, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori’s administration, they will actualize their vision, which is to rank among the best hospitals in Nigeria and ultimately become the best.

He made this statement during the grand reception for the New Board Chairman, Dalori, held at the permanent site of the hospital on Thursday, 13th of February, 2025.

Prof.Ugboaja called Dalori an astute administrator, accomplished businessman, and political leader.

Dalori was described by the CMD as a man of integrity, honesty, hard work, and transformational leadership.

He appreciated the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof.Muhamed Ali Pate, CON, for their enormous support to them.

He disclosed that the NAUTH Mega Project remained a testament to Mr President’s love for Igbos and the people of the Southeast region.

He outlined their major achievements so far as; building 2000 bed capacity facility, a 120-bed Trauma Center and Surgical Emergency Unit, a 120-bed Medical Emergency Unit incorporating the ICU and Renal center, a 200-bed Surgery Ward Complex incorporating 5 theater suitea 200-bed Medical Ward incorporating private wards, 120 Mother and Child Center with 4 theater suites, Modern Delivery Suites, 50 bed SCBU and 4 private delivery rooms as well as 200 seat capacity ICT Center among others.

He further added that their major achievement in 2025 would be the establishment of a Multi Billion Naira regional Radio-Diagnostic Center to reverse medical tourism from their region.

He showed his immense gratitude to the Stakeholders and his team members who worked tirelessly to ensure their vision of setting NAUTH as the best hospital in Nigeria was actualized.

Ugboaja further appreciated their guests and prayed for God’s protection and guidance on them as they returned to their respective destinations.

In his remarks, the new Board Chairman, Hon.Ali Bukar Dalori expressed his delight to serve the institution. He commended Mr President’s commitment to ensure access to good healthcare, adding that this was made possible by skilled and motivated professionals.

Dalori assured NAUTH that his top three agenda, which he enumerated as: Welfare, Well-being, and Motivation, would be his priority as he takes up the new appointment from Mr. President.
