Oniye of Iye Ekiti applauds Gov Oyebanji on renovation of Iye Ekiti General Hospital

...As he drums support for Oyebanji's re-election

The Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has been commended by His Royal Majesty, Oba Jonathan Agboola Adeleye-Oni, Oniye of Iye Ekiti and Oniye in Council on the renovation of Iye Ekiti General Hospital to a world-class standard and construction of rural access roads to enhance food sufficiency and good health services in the area.

Speaking on behalf of Kabiesi, Oba Jonathan Agboola Adeleye-Oni, Iye sons and daughters, and the residents of Iye Community in Ilejemeje Local Government during the official inspection of the newly renovated Iye Ekiti General Hospital, Iye -Ikun rural access road and to other ongoing projects in the area by Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

In his welcome address at Oniye palace, the representative of His Royal Majesty, Oba Jonathan Agboola Adeleye-Oni, Oniye of Iye Ekiti, High Chief Jide Ogunlade, the Onikotun of Iye Ekiti received the Governor with enthusiasm in company of other Chiefs and representatives of Iye Ekiti Development Association, commended the Governor for his love, unending commitment to the growth and development of Ekiti State and his passion for Iye Ekiti.

A statement by Kabiesi, Oba Jonathan stated that “Governor Biodun Oyebanji has been a shining light who has brought unprecedented joy to the people of the Community through the appointment of the indigenes of the town into key positions in his government, for his lives touching and people-oriented programs in Iye Ekiti and across the state” said by Oniye of Iye Ekiti.

He described Governor Oyebanji as a visionary leader, a promise keeper, who constantly demonstrated love and unwavering support for the Community, he solicited more appointments for the indigenes of the town at the State and Federal levels, adding that the people of Iye Ekiti would continue to be grateful to him for renewing their hope through his shared prosperity agenda.

Oba Jonathan Adeleye-Oni also used the occasion to identify some important areas that require urgent government intervention in the town, such as perimeter fence of the General Hospital, Construction of Iye-Usi access road, renovation of Iye Ekiti Town Hall to a modern Civic center, laboratory for the General Hospital, Mortuary building, procurement of Ambulance vehicle, establishment of higher institution in the town and posting of medical personnel to the General hospital etc.

In his remarks, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji thanked the people of Iye Ekiti for their support during the Governorship election that brought him to the office two years ago and called on the people of Ilejemeje not to relent in their support for the administration, with the express approval of reconstruction of Iludun – Ipere – Ido road.

The Governor reiterated his commitment to the growth and development of Ekiti and Ilejemeje Local Government in particular, stressing the need for the people of the area to keep supporting the government of Ekiti state under his leadership.

Governor Oyebanji equally assured the people of the town of more developmental projects that would enhance comfortability and positive impact on the residents of the area, he therefore made some personal donations towards some ongoing projects, while he directed the Chairman Ilejemeje Local Government Mr Pius Dada to take immediate action on the request of the Community to enable him to give the final approval on it.

Similarly, at the event, Oba Adeleye-Oni expressed confidence in the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and pledged the support of the people of Iye Ekiti for the administration beyond 2026, while a letter of appreciation was presented to the Governor by Iyaloja of Iye Ekiti, Chief Mrs. Tosin Olotu, on behalf of Iyalojas in Iye and Ilejemeje.

However, Oba Jonathan Agboola Adeleye-Oni and his Council also commended the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, and his team for doing a yeoman job on the renovation of Iye Ekiti General Hospital, and the Commissioner was conferred with honorary title of “Aare Baasegun of Iye Ekiti” with the kind permission of the Governor of Ekiti state.

Meanwhile, it was a gathering of political bigwigs in Ilejemeje Local Government; in attendance were Chairman Ilejemeje Local Government, Mr. Pius Dada, Member representing Ilejemeje Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon.Iyabo Fakunle-Okieimen, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Chief Folorunso Olabode.

Other attendees included the Traditional rulers in Ilejemeje Local Government, Iyaloja and Iyalaje, representatives of Iye Ekiti Development Association, political appointees in Iye and Ilejemeje, All Progressive Congress party members, and top government functionaries.

Giving the vote of thanks at the event, the lawmaker representing Ilejemeje Constituency in the Ekiti State House of Assembly and former Commissioner for Environment in Ekiti state, Hon. Princess Iyabo Fakunle-Okieimen thanked the Governor for his special love and unending passion and commitment to the development of Ilejemeje Local Government and her people.

The lawmaker harped that Governor Oyebanji is gradually turning the place into a small London, as she, therefore, urged the people in the constituency to reciprocate Mr. Governor’s kind gestures by extending their social contract with him for a second term in office till the year 2030.
