The President of the Senate, His Excellence, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, has said that a Nation that fails to educate its youths has written its obituary.

The Senate President made this known at the inaugural Matriculation and official opening ceremony of Amadeus University Amizi, Ikwuano Abia state, over the weekend.

The Distinguished Senator in his keynote address titled “The unyielding power of education: “Forging a Nation’s Future”, delivered on his behalf by Distinguished Senator Austin Akobundu, Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial zone in the nation’s red chambers, called on the government to ensure that they encourage private institutions like Amadeus University to stand as bastions of intellectual might.

“We must invite the private sector, philanthropists, and all men of goodwill to join in this sacred mission,” Akpabio charged.

To the matriculating students, the Senate President charged them not to shrink from the rigors of learning.

“There will be a time when the road is hard, when the nights are long, when doubt whispers in your ears that you are not equal to the task, I employ you to stand firm, and hold fast, for it is only through perseverance that great achievement are born, “Akpabio advised the matriculating students.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the founder and the chairman of the board of trustees of Amadeus University, Dr. Godwin Nwabunka said that the University was founded as a crucible to empower, inspire, and shape the next generation of African leaders.

“Our work here will position research outcomes at the forefront, research that translates into industrial application and societal advancement, ultimately empowering people and unchaining potential,” the founder said.

In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor of Amadeus University, Distinguished Professor Samuel Nzotta, assured all parents, guardians, and stakeholders that the current University administration is determined to provide and sustain a conducive learning environment and ensure comfort and maximum security for their students.

The highlights of the matriculation ceremony were the administering of the matriculation oath on new students by the Registrar of the school, Mr. Ernest Onuoha, and the signing of the matricula register by the students.
