We need effective accountability in Nzuko-ora Nnewi –Okongwu

From Ijeoma Sandra, Nnewi.

The former Chairman Board of Trustees of Nzuko-ora Nnewi, Chief Mbadiwe R.Okongwu Nwachinaemeru -need has said the problem of Nzuko-ora Nnewi is its administrator’s failure to give an effective financial report.

While addressing Newsmen in his residence at Mbanagu Otolo, Nnewi, on the 3rd of February, 2025, a Stakeholder in Nnewi and a renowned pharmacist revealed that he stopped attending the Town Union meeting a long time ago because of their leaders’ inability to implement matters being discussed in every meeting which according to him has deterred development.

“We continue to lose out because we do the wish of our paid masters. The only criteria for this position are what one can do for the community, not what the community can do for you,” he said.

He said the constitution has no issue adding that its major problem remained its application.

He disclosed from one administration to another, there has never been active accountability in the Town Union.

Okongwu said if Nzuko-ora Nnewi would shun this syndrome of godfatherism (Oga Ekwuona) and join hands to bring out someone who has proven in  all ramifications to have the interest of the community at heart, Nnewi would be saved

 again.

“I served Nzuko-ora Nnewi for five years as BoT Chairman. I am of the opinion that any PG that does well in his first tenure should be given an opportunity for a second tenure; with this, Nnewi will be saved again.

“Look at  Nnewi Triangle, the center of Nnewi we lost. We need to come together to bring a good candidate that will bring back what we have lost” he advised.
