Multi-million naira worth of goods burns to ashes as fire guts Nnewi Market

The people of Nnewi were thrown into tears as a heavy fire razed Afia Mgbede (an evening market), located opposite the New Motor Spare Parts Market in Nnewi, the automobile hub of Anambra State.
According to sources, the fire outbreak, which started in the middle of the night of January 14, 2025, razed down many shops, burning to ashes goods worth millions therein.
Although the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, the victims of the outbreak and sympathizers were grieved for the unfortunate incident.
Reacting to the inferno, an aspirant in the forthcoming Anambra South Senatorial District election, Prince Samben Nwosu, who visited the gory site, assured the victims that he would do everything in his power to support them.
He called on the state government and Stakeholders to provide financial assistance to help the affected market men and women in rebuilding their businesses.
Nwosu commended Anambra State Fire Service for their prompt response in controlling the fire and preventing it from spreading.
