The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, has flagged off the construction of a 17-kilometer road from Kwakabo Junction to Banizumbo village in Dandi Local Government Area of the state.
Kick-starting the road construction, the governor said the project was part of his campaign promises, assuring the people of the area that his administration would ensure the fulfillment of all campaign pledges for the good of all.
Gov. Idris, who was in Dandi local government on a thank you tour, expressed appreciation for the support given to him during and after the election.
The road contract was awarded to an indigenous contractor, BK Construction Company, to not only boost the morale of Indigenous companies but also to create job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths and, at the same time, contribute to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Speaking earlier, the Hon. Commissioner for Works, Hon. Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim, assured the governor that the firm was highly experienced and credible.
He said, in view of its reputation and reliability, “I know they will deliver quality work according to the specification.”
The commissioner noted that the contractor had already been mobilized to the site.
