Umahi joins Senate President Race

Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi has declared interest to contest the position of Senate President.
Governor Umahi disclosed this while addressing Journalists at the State Executive Council Chambers, New Government House, Centenary City Abakaliki.
He then called on the APC leadership and President Elect to zone Senate Position to South East while Speaker House of Representatives to North West for inclusiveness.
His words “For the interest of Equity and Fairness, zone the Senate presidency seat to South East and the Speaker of the House of Representatives to the North West for inclusiveness and assures Nigerias that we are on the part for a total Reunion and calm down agitations , this is my pressing” he said
” I want to insist that the presidency of Tinubu and shettima victory is a miracle Because no man can done it without God Because all odds were against the APC’s family On that note I am asking the APC family, the Senate to set outside the rules So that we can get the best for the leadership of the Senate .
” If the APC family zone the Senate presidency to the South East, I’m indicating interest on the Platform of Capacity. I have in public service for the past 16years, so you can rightly say that I understand administration. So I want to put myself forward and I plead with the National Assembly to amend the rules, Gos is still the breaker of protocols, we should be looking for the best everyone elected both National Assembly is the best So let’s allow God to choose the best So that we shall have a focus on tho rebuild this country , have a focus for those who have not been choosing emerge. So I put myself forward without prejudice or Whatever is the will of God and of course the will of our party leadership, the president elect and The vice president elect and I will not go against their decisions.
“But as a human being and act of conviction, and the grace of God Upon me, I put my self forward to subject to zoning the Senate president to South East. I left PDP out of injustice” he said
