Prof. Wale Sulaiman wins SDP Kwara South senatorial ticket

The Social Democratic Party (SDP), the emerging third force in Kwara Politics on Saturday, 28th of May, 2022 held its Kwara South Senatorial Primary at the ancient town of Omu-Aran, Irepodun LGA of Kwara South. Prof. Wale Sulaiman (PWS), a professor of Neuro and Spine Surgeon, top physician executive, and global philanthropist was unanimously affirmed by delegates from the seven local government councils that constitute the Kwara South Senatorial zone as the SDP senatorial candidate for the region in the 2023 general elections.

The Asiwaju-Ewe of Ajase-Ipo land and President RNZ Foundation, Prof. Wale Sulaiman was affirmed as the SDP Senatorial candidate by the SDP State electoral committee in the presence of the SDP National electoral committee, officials of Independent National Electoral Council (INEC), and Delegates from all wards of Kwara South Senatorial District, the SDP candidates for the Federal House of representatives, Kwara State House of Assembly candidates from Kwara South region, Party Elders, chieftains and massive supporters of Prof. Sulaiman from across the region. His affirmation was predicated on his humanitarian services in Kwara State, career professionalism, and leadership track records.

In his acceptance speech, Prof. Sulaiman said ” I got involved in politics because I wanted to give back to my people and right now I am fully committed to serving the people more. I have traveled across Kwara South and Kwara State and I have seen the agony of our people. It is time in Kwara South that we will begin to experience representative democracy and reap the dividends of democracy. I promise you I will work hard with my team to push policies and legislation that will improve the standard of living of the good people of Kwara South.” 

The National Electoral Committee, was ably led by Barr. John Agbaminoja. He expressed the full confidence of the SDP National party in the Kwara State SDP to win all available seats in the 2023 general elections in Kwara State. He called for massive support and unity of members of the party to attain this feat. 

The renowned Professor of Neurosurgery and Neurosciences will be the first Professor to run for Kwara South Senate in the history of the region. He is highly committed to bringing his wealth of knowledge, leadership, and management experience to bear in pushing legislation that will transform the Kwara South Senatorial district if elected come 2023.
