A  Governorship Aspirant in the forthcoming Ekiti Guber elections and All Progressives Congress Chieftain, Honourable Bamidele Faparusi has urged the leadership of the APC in Ekiti State to pick its candidate from the Southern part of the State.
Bamidele popularly known as Fappy by his admirers made this statement during an interactive session with Journalists in Ado Ekiti recently. From what people are saying on the streets it is more easier to sell candidate from the southern senetorial district than any candidate from other senetorial districts ,he noted .According to him other aspirants are coming out from other senetorial districts because the party leadership in the state didn’t make any categorical pronouncement. To Faparusi this is not good enough. The former House of Representative Member said he is more than ready to serve the people of Ekiti in the capacity of a Governor.

He highlighted his constant communication with the people and grassroots politics as a huge boost to his chances. He noted that his recent declaration has unsettled some people who feel threatened because of the interest he has to serve Ekiti people.
“I once ran a campaign for 3 years preceding the 2018 general elections. I didn’t get the ticket and I even turned down the chance of going to the Senate because I belief it was the turn of another local government. I am a rooted politician that can change things and that is why some people are very unsettled”.
On the agitation by the South Senatorial District to compel the party’s leadership to present its candidate from the Southern region of the State, Honourable Faparusi said “the agitation is morally right even though the region is not enforcing it but it will do the party a lot of good to pick the flag bearer from the region”, he declared.
“We are yet to have a Governor from the South and let me say this, if the APC fails to produce their candidate from the South, then we will lose the election”. He maintained that the idea of imposition will have an adverse effect on the party while encouraging the people of Ekiti State to look beyond immediate gains in electing their leaders.
Honourable Bamidele said absence of internal Democracy in political parties is the major reason the National Assembly is pushing for Direct primaries in picking party candidates. He concluded that he has oiled  machineries and structures that will win the party’s ticket for him.
