By Samson Osuo -Lafia

The Nasarawa State Governorship Candidate of New Nigeria People Party (NNPP), Abdullahi Yakubu Maidoya said he will provide specific roles for traditional rulers if elected in the forth coming general elections.

To achieve this he said he intends to send a Bill to the State House of Assembly to enact a Law that would back the proposed roles of the traditional rulers in the area.

Maidoya stated this during a courtesy visit to the Paramount ruler of the Toni Chiefdom (Abaga Toni), Lawrence Sylvester Ayih at Garaku, the Headquarter of Kokona Local Government Council.

According to him traditional rulers have vital roles to play especially in the areas of peace making and unity of the Society, adding that his administration will engage them to contribute their wealth of experience towards the development of the State.

Maidoya who lamented that Nigerians are currently facing a lot of challenges, said the poverty level in the Country is increasing daily.

He assured that his administration is ready to provide good governance that will alleviate the sufferings of the people.

In his response the Abaga Toni, Lawrence Sylvester Ayih, who appreciated the Party Flag bearer for the visit, called on Politicians to avoid campaign of bitterness and blackmail.

According to him power is from God, he gives to whoever he so desire.

He therefore charged Politicians in the State to play the game according to the rules and avoid acts capable of creating disorder.
