The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has commissioned the Muhammadu Buhari Estate, a 108-unit housing project along the Oke-Mosan-Kobape Express Road in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The estate, commissioned on Tuesday, is designed to provide decent, smart and affordable accommodation for residents while contributing to efforts to bridge the housing deficit in the state.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, appreciated the First Lady for honouring the commissioning and supporting the state’s housing development initiatives.
Abiodun stressed the importance of providing decent accommodation for residents, noting that access to quality housing remained critical to improving the living conditions and overall wellbeing of the people.
The governor assured that his administration would sustain its commitment to housing development and continue to provide affordable housing units for residents until the end of its tenure.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi, commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her support and commitment towards the successful completion of Phase One of the estate.
Omoniyi said the 108 housing units reflected the government’s determination to cater to the housing needs of low, middle and high income earners, while strengthening efforts to reduce the state’s housing deficit.
He assured residents that the Ministry of Housing would continue to support initiatives aimed at increasing the availability of decent homes and promoting sustainable housing development across Ogun State.
