As the people of Zamfara State, Nigerians, and the entire world watch with enthusiasm to see and hear the turn of events in the legal tussle between
a lone Sani Shinkafi against the state chapter of APC, INEC, and Sen. Sahabi Ya’u, Barr. Bello Galadi, the plaintiff’s lawyer, gave assurance of victory as the court adjourned the session to August 5th 2026.
Galadi assured Shinkafi of victory in his words during an interview with journalists present at the Federal High Court, Gusau, to monitor the plenary.
He stated on the grounds of certainty that the case will definitely turn in the favour of Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi.
Giving an in-depth detail of the case as it played out at the court, Galadi said he ultimately rejected our originators’ summons; by law, it is our responsibility to provide a corresponding reply within a period of three days, and we will surely reply to it, he assured.
We invoked Article 7, subsection 6 of the party’s direction of the Federal High Court Pre -election 2026; we informed the court that we are entitled to 3 days during which we would file our reply.
Considering our position, the matter was adjourned to the 5th day of August 2026, for adoption of final written addresses.
This was done because every party has the right to participate in the court legal processes in accordance with the rule of law. The court has to listen to him because he is a party in the matter.
Galadi also confirmed that there were no pending applications on the part of the plaintiff (Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi); the only pending application is the appeal we filed for a stay of execution, which would be taken at the next session of this Honourable Court.
Concerning the true position of the previous 3 approved applications, Barr. Galadi said they were legally determined.
In his words, Barrister Mizbahu Salahudeen, Lawyer representing Sahabi Ya’u stated that, the meta was adjourned to 28th July with the hope that all parties would adopt their respective arguments as they were convas because this is the period we call originating summons where documents were relies on, so all the parties have filled their respective documents and arguments in written so we were expected to come and adopt today, but the plentive informed the court that he was served with a counter affidavit by the first defendant yesterday.
The court granted him 3 days to reply, and the matter was adjourned to the 5th day of August 2026 for indefinite hearing, he explained.
Representing numerous supporters of Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi were Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Mada, the Chairman, Wambai Shinkafi Democratic Front, and Hon. Ahmed Zurmi, former Director, Basic Education Board, Zamfara State, who stated explicitly in their observation that the victory is gradually turning to Sani Shinkafi’s camp.
