Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has been declared winner of the ADC Presidential primary election conducted in Imo State on Monday
This is as he recorded over-whelming victory in the just concluded party Presidential election in the 305 political wards and 27 council areas of Imo State
Declaring the result, the Chairman ADC National Presidential Primary Electoral Panel, Imo State, Hon.Eko Atu stressed that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar polled 52,200 votes while the former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi scored 7,659 votes to trail behind.
Another presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatudeen got 1,121 votes to emerge third position.
Atu expressed gratitude to ADC members and leadership of the party in Imo State under Prof. James Okoroma for providing enabling environment which assisted the electoral panel to perform their statutory responsibility.
He said: “Atiku’s triumph in Imo positioned him for eventual victory in the state which is the stronghold of ADC in the South East”.
