British heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury has intensified talks surrounding a possible showdown with fellow Briton Anthony Joshua, insisting he would knock out his rival if they eventually meet.
Fury made the remarks while speaking to FurociTV following his recent victory earlier this year.
The former world champion declared that Joshua would struggle to cope with his speed and boxing ability inside the ring.
Fury also referenced recent performances involving Daniel Dubois, arguing that Joshua was the only fighter among Dubois’ recent opponents to suffer repeated knockdowns.
Meanwhile, unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has backed Joshua to defeat Fury if the long-awaited fight eventually takes place.
Usyk, who has beaten both heavyweights twice, revealed that he now trains alongside Joshua and believes the former champion has improved significantly.
Joshua is scheduled to face Kristan Prenga on July 25 in what is being viewed as preparation for a future clash with Fury later in the year.
Fury, who recently defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov, is also planning another fight in August before pursuing the Joshua showdown.
The Gypsy King also reiterated his desire for a trilogy fight against Usyk after losing twice on points, although he insisted any future bout should take place in either the United Kingdom or the United States rather than Saudi Arabia.
Usyk, meanwhile, is preparing to face kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven in Egypt this weekend before a potential fight with mandatory challenger Agit Kabayel.
