Following the conduct of the Senatorial Primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’, Benue State Chapter, the former Governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Torwua Suswam, emerged winner as the party’s flagbearer of Benue North East Senatorial District, in other words called Zone ‘A’.

The Chairman of the APC Senatorial Primary Election Committee of Benue State and Returning Officer, Alhaji Sabiu Saidu, announced the results on Tuesday at the APC Secretariat in Makurdi.

He explained that Suswam polled 131,083 votes to floor the incumbent Senator Emmanuel Udende, who pulled 1,364 votes.

The Benue North West Senatorial District, also known as Zone ‘B,’ Hon. Benjamin Aber was declared winner with a total of 93,412 votes, defeating the incumbent Senator Titus Zam who got only 2,763 votes.

The Benue South Senatorial District, also known as Zone ‘C’, Hon. Francis Agbo emerged winner with 58,760 votes, flooring his closest rival, Hon. Joseph Ojobo, who polled 6,782 votes.

Saidu who further disclosed that a separate committee had been inaugurated to address complaints from aggrieved aspirants.

The chairman also urged Aspirants who were not satisfied with the Primaries processes to go ahead and submit their petitions within 24 hours before the final declaration.

“Like I said the other time, this exercise is a family affair. I do not see anybody winning or losing. It is an internal process. Whoever stands elected will represent the party at the general election,” Saidu explained.

He enjoined APC supporters to remain united to ensure the party’s victory in the forthcoming general elections at the Presidential to National Assembly down to the States Assembly, adding that the outcome of the primaries would make the APC stronger, more united, and focused ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Lawrence Onoja Junior, an Aspirant for Otukpo/Ohimini federal House of Representatives while Fielding questions from Journalists at the APC Secretariat described the House of Representatives primaries conducted in Otukpo/Ohimini as null and void. Disclosing that no elections were conducted in his Constituency.

Hon. Onoja further disclosed that the purported over 17 thousand votes allocated to his Co – contender Hon. Blessing Onuh were false and fabricated, revealing that a total number of registered voters of the two local government areas is 15 thousand.

Hon. Onoja told Journalists that he was at the Secretariat to submit his petition, believing that justice must be done by the party because the party believes in zoning which favoured him 100 percent against his Co – contender who is bent on going to the lower chamber of the national Assembly for the third term against the wish of the electorates.
